Following Netflix’s lead, Yahoo announced it will live-stream a video broadcast of the Internet company’s second-quarter earnings call on Tuesday. Video of the meeting, which will feature CEO Marissa Mayer and CFO Ken Goldman, will be broadcast from Yahoo’s studio in Sunnyvale, Calif., on the Internet company’s investor relations page beginning at 2 p.m. PT Tuesday. The video will then be immediately archived for 90 days, the company said in a statement.

The announcement comes a week after Netflix said it would eschew the traditional conference call format with analysts for a live video discussion when it announces its second-quarter financial performance on July 22. The video rental and streaming service said its video discussion would be moderated by BTIG analyst Rich Greenfield and CNBC media and entertainment reporter Julia Boorstin from questions submitted via e-mail and Twitter.
While Yahoo’s earnings rose 26 percent to $420 million in the first quarter of 2013, its display advertising revenue fell sharply. In April, the company projected second-quarter net revenue of $1.06 billion to $1.09 billion, below the average analyst expectation of $1.11 billion.
